AI Report Proofreading & Drawing Check

AI checks every inspection report and drawing before it goes out

An industrial inspection firm's engineers proofread long reports and checked every number by hand before sending them. I built an Airtable and n8n workflow where AI proofreads each report and cross-checks its numbers against the field data, plus an n8n agent that checks technical drawings against the firm's drafting rules. Reviewers now work through the AI's findings instead of reading every page, which cut review time about in half.

AI agents: report proofreading and drawing check

The context

Long reports, read by hand

Every report was proofread line by line before it went to the client.

Numbers to cross-check

Readings in the text and tables had to match the raw field data.

Drawings checked by eye

Missing dimensions or broken references were caught late, if at all.

How I built it

Proofreading workflow

A report and its data sheets go into Airtable, and n8n sends them to AI for spelling, grammar, number and cross-reference checks.

Findings, not pages

Each finding comes back with its page and a suggested fix, so the reviewer accepts or dismisses it.

Drawing-check agent

An n8n agent reads each sheet and checks it against a knowledge base of the firm's drafting rules, tuned in working sessions with an engineer.
