Speculative design is a powerful tool for business design and consulting, helping clients forecast future scenarios and consider underlooked trends and factors when planning strategies. It has been used by well-known brands such as Google, Philips, and IKEA.
Tangity has developed its own Speculative Design toolkit through Miro. However, it faced several challenges:
Time-consuming: The process required at least a 4-hour workshop, which was time-consuming and resource-intensive.
Knowledge barrier: This approach was not accessible to everyone, as it required significant background knowledge and manual effort.
As a result, user adoption was limited, reducing the toolkit's overall impact.
I developed a web app that allows users to complete speculative design exercises online in just a few minutes without the need for prior experience or extensive time commitment.
I iterated through several prototypes, from a GPT custom Chatbot to a user-friendly website interface, ensuring the tool is intuitive and accessible.
I utilized GPT-4, DALL-E 3, and no-code tools like Airtable, Softr, and Make to power the backend, providing seamless operation and real-time insights.
